About the Hamilton Street church of Christ

Church of Christ

Welcome to the Hamilton St. church of Christ page!  The New Testament shows Christians worshiping. We are committed to this vision, mandate, and example participating in worship. We sing using the only instruments God created, the human voice and heart. We gather at the Lord’s table every Sunday, taking the bread and fruit of the vine, proclaiming the body and blood that Christ sacrificed for our sins. We share our financial means to help others and spread the Gospel. We hear messages from God’s Holy Word. We pray to God in all circumstances.
WELCOME! We would love for you to come to visit with our congregation.  We will meet at 9 A.M. for Bible Classes (all ages), worship service at 10 A.M., evening services at 6:30 P.M., and Wednesday services at 7:00 P.M. We’ll sit every other pew and six feet between every member (of course worship with your families), also we are using individual communion kits to be safe.
Lessons will be recorded and posted to Castbox for listening after services end.
REMEMBER:   Upper rooms are, where our Savior planted seeds of comfort and courage; where fearful disciples are awed by his appearing; where the church gathered to pray, and share the Lord’s Supper. Upper rooms are where we, His church make decisions to change the world for Heaven’s sake.

More About Our Congregation

Our Motivation

Deep deep love for God and a genuine concern for all people. Love is the badge of all true disciples (John 13:33–34), and the prerequisite for all service (1 Corinthians 13:1–8).

The Work

The work of Jesus’ church is threefold: teach others about Jesus (Mark 16:15–16), encourage each other to be faithful to Jesus (Romans 14:19), and help others in the name of Jesus (James 1:27).

You Can Be Saved

We believe the Bible teaches that sinners are saved by faith, repentance, confession, and baptism (John 3:16; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9–10), and that Christians must remain faithful after conversion (Revelation 2:10).

True Unity

As to doctrine, the church of Christ seeks to return to simple New Testament Christianity and unite all Christians into one body (1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:4–6).

Our Standard

We believe that the New Testament is the only rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 1 Peter 4:11), and that it must authorize all that is taught and practiced (Colossians 3:17; Revelation 22:18–19).

To carefully follow the New Testament in all things, we observe the Lord’s Supper every Sunday and sing songs a-cappella.
